Carry the event into court only after the custody record is anchored.
For Travis County jail records, use Sheriff arrest and booking information to identify the detention event, preserve the Jail ID or booking number and current-status date, then use Travis County court records for the filed prosecution and disposition.
The Travis County Sheriff explains that people arrested in the county are brought through the Central Booking Facility at the Travis County Jail. Jail information is therefore the right starting point for a current or recent detention question. A reliable note should preserve the person’s name, date of birth when shown, Jail ID or booking number, booking date, facility, and the date the custody information was checked.
That booking record should not be stretched into a court outcome. The Sheriff’s own materials note that release paperwork can contain a court date, while the county court system maintains the filed case. After identifying the detention event, carry the person, arrest date, and any case reference into the correct court source. A booking number identifies custody; a cause or case number identifies the prosecution.
